A few years ago, our co-founder, Jeff Yasuda, was contacted by a CPG executive who wanted to include popular music in an app being created by his company to support a festival sponsorship. Together with his co-founders, Eric Lambrecht and Lauren Pufpaf, Jeff did some research and found there was a big gap in the market when it came to a plug and play solution that enabled brands to license popular music to better engage their customers. 

Businesses and developers either needed to deploy legal teams—and big budgets—to negotiate directly with rights holders and publishers, or run the risk of costly litigation for using popular music without permission. The only other alternative was to use royalty-free or stock music, which didn’t always lead to the best customer experience.

Jeff, Eric and Lauren set about assembling the right team to solve the problem. Today, Feed Media Group’s proprietary streaming platform and SDKs are available to any business that needs licensed popular music to create the most engaging customer experiences in their digital apps and physical spaces.

We deliver pre-cleared music—compiled by the industry’s best curators—complete with user analytics, payments to rightsholders, and legal indemnification for our customers. Feed.fm powers music for the world’s leading brands including American Eagle Outfitters, Mayo Clinic, Mirror, Nautilus and Tonal; and up-and-coming startups use Adaptr to create unique music-based experiences. Our music partners include Warner, BMG, and Cobalt.
